Yall,
Anyone who knows me and has known me for over 5 minutes knows that my 20 year high school reunion is rapidly approching. I have to date 13 and a half months until such time. Before I get started I want to give a shout out to the entire high school graduating class of 1989 especially from Hyde Park Career Academy – Chicago, IL.
Now I will admit that life after high school has had it’s highs and lows. And when it was low….it was LOW! Low enough to where food became my best friend. Forget about my friends. It was about my kinship with McDonalds, Burger King, pizza, chicken, yada, yada and yada. Even when I had high moments it was about chicken, lasagna, tacos (real or fake meat), french fries, yall know what I’m saying.
It has just made 19 years since Hyde Park and for the past 1 1/2 years I’ve been on a weight loss journey. And honey let me tell you this is a J-O-U-R-N-E-Y! This ain’t never going to stop. My reunion is going to be one of the most anticipated accomplishments just because hopefully by then God will have let me see and be there. But’cha know a sista has to look the part. Hair done, nails done, a cold ass outfit, dressed to the nines but WHOO CHILE I GOTTA BE IN A SIZE 9!! Well okay 10.
This one right here is for all my people in the struggle to look the part for this reunion. It goes without saying that there will be life to live AFTER the reunion. And we have (or should strive) to live healthy. But whatever event is coming up. Whether it’s your reunion, graduation, or wedding keep in mind the most important reason for the journey that is taking place and that is your over all health. Remember that!! That is the first and foremost. However, if ya got a little vanity saved up in ya, get ready for that reunion. The countdown is starting now. And ya know it’ll go fast …… hell look at the last 19 years! Till next time. Smooches
As I sit here stuffing yet another salt water taffy in my mouth, I realized that my 20 reunion is next year and I have a LONG way to go!

Tif,
What a great challenge! You’re gonna’ ROCK that reunion. Step-by-step, day-by-day, bite-by-bite you are going to approach, and surpass, your goal.
Have you put the date on paper and taped it to your bathroom mirror and refrigerator yet?
I can’t wait to read this blog in 13.5 months for the great news.
