Hi all,
Sorry I took a little hiatus from writing. I had the flu. Okay, so as usual I went to my weight watchers meeting last Saturday. And as usual here it was week numero 10 of the damn plateau. So I decided not to be discouraged and went to the 99 cents store to do something I should have done on November 1, 2006. What was that? Glad you asked. Well I bought a tape measure and TOOK MY DAMN MEASUREMENTS.
Taking measurements is far more important than being a “scale ho”. You know what a scale ho is right? Those are the folks that get up in the morning having showered and freshly peed running to the scale to see how much weight they lost after one night of seriously sleeping. They feel that perhaps turning over in the bed countless times during the night would equate to exercise and that by daylight they would have lost 2 pounds right? Yeah I know I’m reaching here BUT the scale can depress, disgust, deject and dispirit you right on out of a weight loss effort. Especially if you are on a plateau. I mean how many times can you change your eating habits and your work out regimen right? Sometimes the scale just doesn’t move.
And as I mentioned earlier, I found myself rather encouraged enough to go get a tape measure and measured every part of my body short of my throat and hair! I dated it in my notepad. So let’s just say in one month I’ll take my measurements and if those same scale numbers are still waving to me “hey girl how u doing?” but the measurements are different then guess who has a victory? Moi! Motivation folks…..keep it going. Take your measurements. Until next time. Smooches
