Hi all,
Saturday I went to my usual Weight Watchers ”church” at my church and I lost point 6 pounds and I thought to myself “ YUK — that’s all?” and then she walked in. One of the members in my church family whose name will remain nameless (at least until I get her permission) managed to give a testimony on her weight loss journey. We’ll call her “May”. So as I sat in total disgust with me only losing POINT 6 pounds, I listened to May speak about her testimony of losing 166 pounds. LAWD HAVE MERCY!! May’s testimony was so riveting that I wanted to cry sitting there listening. She lost 166 pounds and kept it off for over 15 years. I must tell you that she is beautiful and never would I have thought she’d weighed THAT much and brought in pictures to prove it! She said at her highest recollection she weighed 331 pounds. She weighs 165 now. Yeah…. you do the math.
She really didn’t even follow the Weight Watchers program but she hired a nutritionist and she said basically what her nutritionist told her to do was the same structure as the Weight Watchers program.
My other friend who will remain nameless (but you know who you are gurrl), we’ll call her Lisette. Lisette has been struggling with her weight for the last 10 + years. She has small children and has a physically fit husband. She took her life back by doing something about her weight. So if she is able to lose 6 pounds this week, she will be back in what she and I call “onederland.” For those of you who don’t know what “onederland” is, that is life on the underside of two hundred pounds. Praise God for her. I can’t wait till she tells me she’s back in onederland (pronounced won-der-land). I haven’t seen onederland since 1989! DANG!
In November 2006 I weighed in at 312 pounds and according to Weight Watchers, your first goal should be to lose 10 percent of your body weight. But my FIRST goal was to get into the “two-derland” club. I couldn’t be weighing THREE NOTHING!! And I finally did it. Took 15 months but not only did I get back in the two’s but I lost my first 10 percent.
So this is more inspiration. For those who are continuing the process of losing weight no matter how you do it, keep that party going. One day we’ll ALL be in the “onederland” club.
!!! For real!!!!!
Until next time. Smooches
